PTA Introduces District-Level Internet Service Licenses. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has launched a new initiative to issue district-level internet service licenses. This move aims to encourage local entrepreneurship and increase broadband penetration across Pakistan.
What the District-Level Internet Service License Offers
Under the new framework, the Class License will be valid for 10 years. Applicants are required to pay a one-time initial license fee of Rs. 300,000.
In addition, an annual license fee (ALF) of Rs. 100,000 is payable for the first year along with the initial fee. For the following years, the ALF must be paid in advance and will increase by 10% every year.
How to Apply for the License
Interested applicants can submit their applications online through the PTA portal. PTA has also provided a prescribed checklist and a license template on its website to guide applicants through the process.
PTA Commitment to Digital Growth
The PTA emphasizes its commitment to digital inclusion, strengthening broadband infrastructure, and supporting the growth of Pakistan’s telecommunications sector.
By facilitating district-level internet services, the authority aims to bring faster internet connectivity to local communities and foster entrepreneurial opportunities nationwide.
Conclusion
PTA’s district-level internet service licenses are a key step toward improving broadband access in Pakistan. With clear application guidelines, long-term validity, and affordable fees, this initiative opens doors for local businesses to contribute to the country’s digital growth.
